Elaine Farrow

Elaine supports the Defra funded PCGIN (Pulse Crop Genetic Improvement Network).

Current work includes the cultivation, sampling and harvest of a mutagenic pea population to provide a genetic resource for future research into favourable traits such as increased bioavailability of nutrient elements. Elaine also carries out biochemical assays of nutrients such as resistant starch, and anti-nutrients such as phytic acid.
